Nancy Murray & Associates

Nancy Murray with Keller Williams
Nancy Murray & Associates is my full-service real estate business, affiliated with Keller Williams Clients’ Choice in Colorado Springs. I have been a real estate agent since 2006. My associates and I are committed to providing professional and personalized service to all of our clients.
Having served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, I have had to buy and sell several homes during my military career. As an Air Force brat, service member, wife, and mother, I thoroughly understand and appreciate the various issues associated with a military transfer.
Whether a client is selling their home before transferring to a new duty station or looking to buy a home in a nice neighborhood with good schools, our goal is to make their real estate transaction as smooth and easy as possible.
As a retired Naval Officer, I am a strong supporter of our military and public servants. I offer a Hero Rebate for my clients who are active duty or retired military service members, firefighters, police, medical, or education.
My years of information technology, financial management, and contract negotiating experience have proven to be a perfect fit for the real estate profession.
Today, over 94% of all initial real estate transactions begin with a search on the internet, and by using a reliable and professional real estate website builder, that search will start with us, and potential clients will be directed to our site after using the search engines. For our clients who are looking to buy a home, we provide the tools necessary to conduct a thorough search of all properties available, which meet their personal criteria, to help find the perfect home.
The extensive internet marketing that we provide for our clients ensures that the home they are selling receives the widest possible exposure.
Our website, AcademyDistrict20Homes.com, is a valuable source of information about real estate and Colorado Springs. Whether you are a buyer or a seller, you should be able to find answers to your real estate questions here.
We are always happy to provide more in-depth information or answer your particular questions, so please contact us with any questions.
My associates and I take pride in providing “professional service with a personal touch.”
Respectfully,
Nancy Murray
Military Background
I was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in July 1985 at Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. My first assignment was as the Protocol Officer for the Admiral in charge of all naval forces in the Philippines. Follow on tours included:
- Bachelor Quarters Officer in San Diego, CA
- Student at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA
- Department Head for the Navy Command Center’s Information Technology Department at the Pentagon
- Department Head for the Navy’s Chief Information Officer in Washington, DC
- Program Manager for US Transportation Command’s Global Transportation Network at Scott Air Force Base, IL.
- Financial Manager/Planner for US Northern Command’s Technology Division at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs
After arriving at Peterson Air Force Base in July 2002, to help establish the new War on Terrorism Command – US Northern Command, my family and I fell in love with Colorado Springs, and knew this is where we wanted to stay. I retired from the U.S. Navy in July 2005, as a Commander.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, June 1983.
Masters of Science degree in Computer Systems Management, U.S. Naval Post Graduate School, Monterey, California, March 1991.
Real Estate Career
I began my real estate career as an investor. Once I retired from the U.S. Navy, I decided to enhance my real estate knowledge by becoming a licensed real estate broker. As I learned more about the real estate business, I discovered that I truly enjoyed helping buyers find their dream home and sellers start a new chapter in their lives.
My background and experience have allowed me to be on the leading edge of real estate technology. We provide personalized property websites to assist buyers in their search for a new home, and email notification when a new property that meets their criteria is listed for sale. For our sellers, we utilize a variety of marketing systems to advertise their listing extensively on the internet as well as a personalized website to monitor their competition.
My experience in government contract negotiations is beneficial in negotiating deals on behalf of my real estate clients. I am very adept at using the technologies that support effective communications among buyers, sellers, lenders, title companies, appraisers and all the other contributors to a successful real estate transaction.
All of the agents who work with me agree with my business philosophy – if you place the needs and desires of the client first, it will be a win-win for everyone at the closing table.

Keller Williams
I chose to work with Keller Williams in Colorado Springs because of their corporate philosophy of “God and family first and business second.” As our team leader explained, “We know that this isn’t politically correct, but we don’t give a flip.” Several of the other real estate companies that I interviewed stressed that business came before family. The fact that with Keller Williams, God and family came before business was very important to me. I truly enjoy working with the professionals at Keller Williams.
Family Life
I am very happily married to Jim Murray since 1991. Jim is a retired Navy helicopter pilot whom I met on my first Navy tour in the Philippines. He is now a commercial airline pilot for American Airlines. When he was furloughed for eight months (airline term for laid off) he obtained his real estate license. He is my sounding board and confidant. We have two great sons, Michael, a graduate of the University of Colorado – Boulder and now working in Truckee, CA, and Ryan at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Both are graduates of Academy School District 20 Pine Creek High School.
When we moved to Colorado Springs, in July 2002, Michael was in 3rd grade and Ryan was in pre-school. I am very pleased with the quality of education they received at Mountain View Elementary School, Challenger Middle School and Pine Creek High School.
Academy School District 20
During our “house-hunting” trip to Colorado Springs in 2002, prior to my transfer to Peterson Air Force Base, several people recommended that we live in Academy School District 20 because “that is the best school district in the area.” That was where my husband and I decided to focus our search for our family’s new home. It was certainly the right decision. Not only have we been very pleased with the quality of the schools, but through the ups and downs of the real estate market in Colorado Springs, homes in Academy School District 20 have maintained their value. Check out our Housing Analysis by School District.
Although we represent clients throughout the entire Colorado Springs area, focusing on Academy School District 20 has proved to be a very successful strategy. This is where we live and where our boys went to school. We know the neighborhoods and the schools. The average sales price of a home is Academy District 20 is about $120,000 above the Colorado Springs MLS advertised average sales price.
Giving Back to the Community.
I am a firm believer in supporting our local community, which is why if you use Murray & Associates to buy or sell a home, we will donate $250 in your name towards your favorite charity or non-profit organization at the closing table. This could also include Academy School District 20 parent organizations, bands, sports, or other activities at any Colorado Springs school.
